Jake Beckman mined Revolution Recovery’s waste piles for discarded electronic parts and gadgets whose utility had been exhausted. Jake dissected these once-useful objects and extracted their functional components, using RAIR’s studio as a laboratory for experimentation. In attempt to squeeze out a few last drops of utility from the objects he collected, Jake combined parts to produce a series of assembled motorized sculptures resembling machine prototypes.
