Em Rea spent the time during their residency researching the Metal Bank Superfund site. Using historic maps and EPA remediation reports they began creating an interactive site specific installation calling attention to native plant and animal life and how they are effected by industry. Rea invited a small group of people to explore the site from the barn out to the riverfront at night, lead by a map and by spotlights. The project, titled “Red Shift”, allowed Rea, for the first time, to spend a full 6 weeks focusing on investigating a single site
