“Being (out in the yard) made me think about keeping time (in a musical or movement sense), disrupting time (interrupting labor, offering play, suggesting rest), and the ways I both mark, and experience time being marked in the environments I travel through.”
— Saar Shamesh

During her time at RAIR Saar Shamesh, created a series of bells out of helium tanks and freon canisters found while exploring the yard. Drawn to the vibrancy and color of these materials against the dusty backdrop of the trash piles, Saar used these materials to create bells which focus on sonics and the idea of intentionally imperfect multiples. dovetailing into the history of Saar’s past work, these bells mediate on labor, disruption, rest, communication, play, cycles, illness, and time.
