Tim Eads

The taxonomy of trash was a new direction for Tim. In 2012 he took his invitation to work at RAIR as an opportunity to expand on the idea of collaboration and to begin the development of a project that is a point of departure from his other work. He put together a crew of proffesional video, photo, and audio technicians, and took to documenting the objects that make up the ‘trash’ at the recycling center. After documenting hundreds of objects he sent the data off to a biologist who categorized everything based on material compounds found in each object. He put together a publication of the project in its entirety along with an exhibition Spring 2013 at the Delaware Center for Contemporary Art (DCCA). His project challenges the viewer to look at each object in isolation and reconsider the aggregate we know as ‘trash’.
